Gujarat clinched its maiden Ranji Trophy title for 2016-17, beating Mumbai by 5 wickets in the final on January 14, 2016 at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. Mumbai set the target of 312 runs before Gujarat to win the title. Gujarat achieved the target at its five wickets cost with the help of fabulous 143-run knock from its skipper parthiv patel. Manprit juneja (54 runs) and P. Panchal (34runs) also played crucial knocks to help Gujarat win the coveted title in its second Ranji final appearance.
